These people are moving towards the USA border on foot. Most of these migrants have come from Venezuela. These people were facing financial crisis. And these people have reached Mexico by walking several thousand kilometers.
Due to the deteriorating economic condition in their country, these people were forced to migrate. However, just recently, the Summit of America was organized in Los Angeles. This is an international summit.
Under this, all American countries discuss free trade, democracy, etc. Along with that, this time migration was a hot topic in this summit. Migration was also given full attention this time.
But this summit was boycotted by Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cuba and Mexico. Although this caravan was started by about 6000 people on Monday. He started his journey from the southern Mexican city of Tapachula.
But most of the people in this migration are from Venezuela as well as Cuba and Haiti. These people enter Mexico because of increasing corruption in their country, failure of the government, increasing poverty, violence, deteriorating social and political situation.
After that try to come to America. First these people try to come to North Mexico, crossing a dangerous path like Darien. After that his next target is America. These people first come to Mexico.
But these people do not take refuge in Mexico. Because they neither get job opportunity there. Nor is the standard of living good. That’s why these people try to enter America.
According to Panama’s National Migration Service, more than 32,000 migrated in the first 5 months of this year, including 16,000 Venezuelans. They have crossed the border.
However, even these migrants are not provided any facilities by Mexico. Mexico puts these people in a migration camp. These migrants, including many children, during the rainy season.
They are reaching Mexico on foot through highway, bad roads, forest, river, etc. This caravan is nothing new this time. This migrant caravan started from 2018.
Migrants illegally cross the border from Mexico to the United States every year. So far more than one lakh migrants have crossed the dangerous roads of Darien in 2021. This figure is given by the Panama National Migration Service.
These migrants are accompanied by a large number of women and children. And all these people walk several thousand kilometers through inaccessible roads, passing through Mexico, reaching the border of America.
So that they can take asylum in America. These people want the United States to help them resolve the crisis in Venezuela. Only then will these people go back to Venezuela.
And until this crisis is resolved, the United States should give shelter to these people. Smugglers help these migrants reach the US border.
