Impact of "Melody": Thousands of Indian workers will find employment in Italy, and students will also be employed

On Friday, December 1, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni shared a selfie on her official X account with her Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, suggesting that she is familiar with the online subculture.

The hashtag, #Melodi, a well-known play on the surnames of the two prime ministers, and the message, which featured the 46-year-old Italian leader, drew attention from online users.

The post had received over 3.6 Million Views and thousands of comments at the time of the update, indicating that the two influential personalities in global politics were well-liked on social media.

Meloni and Modi had a meeting outside of the ongoing COP28 climate conference in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where the topics of sustainability and environmental preservation had taken center stage.

PM Modi said that India and Italy were searching for a sustainable and prosperous future in a photo he shared earlier in the day with Meloni.

Earlier this year, in September, at the G20 Summit in Delhi, the two leaders’ friendship was initially revealed. PM Modi greeted Meloni, shaking hands and exchanging pleasantries before laughing heartily after a short exchange.

Additionally, she sent PM Modi a sweet birthday message that said, “Happy Birthday Wishes @narendramodi.” a close friend of Italy who is dedicated to constructing the future and proud of the past of a magnificent country.”

Meloni made her first trip to India in March before the G20 Summit, during which the two leaders had a number of bilateral talks. Notably, the diamond anniversary of the two nations’ bilateral relationship fell on the same day as the Italian leader’s visit to New Delhi.

Along with Meloni, PM Modi met a number of other leaders during his hectic day at the summit, including the presidents of Brazil, Turkey, Ulf Kristersson, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States Foreign Secretary David Cameron, the former prime minister of the United Kingdom Tony Blair, and the president of the Maldives, Mohamed Muizzu.

During his speech, Prime Minister Modi advocated for a “green credit” scheme that creates carbon skins and urged countries to collaborate in order to reduce emissions.

COP28 climate talks

A first-ever evaluation of nations’ progress toward achieving the 2015 Paris Agreement’s target of keeping the rise in global temperatures “well below” 2 degrees Celsius, with a goal of 1.5 degrees Celsius, was the primary job at COP28.

Annually, the Conference of the Parties, or COP, convenes unless its members determine otherwise.

Berlin, Germany hosted the inaugural Conference of the COP in 1995.
